Of course we couldn't leave well enough alone. When you have a selection of highly creative people sitting around the same table for any length of time at all, something is just going to happen. Well it did. We all started talking funny. It was like a foreign language or something.
The really strange thing was that we were understanding each other fairly well. There were a lot of "jabbas" and "jambas" being said, intermingled with other words and syllables. A pattern was developing that would make the variations easy to construct, kinda like pig latin.
Since only one of us was somewhat bilingual and the rest of us were loaded up with english, it became apparent that jabajambatawk was going to be based on english words. We didn't want to compete with na'vi or some other serious effort. We wanted this to be funny fun fun.
Mainly to have fun and have interesting discussions while playing jabajamba! Why not push the laughter button as often as possible? People usually talk about something when they play games, why not make it hilarious! Yhabba otnabba jabbamakeit illarioushabba?
It seemed like a good idea to build a dictionary, so we started converting about 200 words. The process became faster and faster until it became obvious that simply understanding the pattern would enable just about anyone to convert what they wanted to say on the fly.
We decided twitter would be the absolute best place to propagate jabajambatawk. The jabajamba twitter page is the place where you can easily participate in the development of jabajambatawk. You can follow us on twitter and practice sounding funny like the rest of us!
